Thanks to 45 survivors and 124 volunteers and donors over 4 days last week, we had an incredibly impactful weekend. We welcomed 45 survivors from San Diego and all over the country. Here are some quotes from survivors in their own words:

"Your generosity saved lives this weekend. Your consideration and thoughtful gift was an integral component to my healing journey. I have a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. Before this retreat, I sincerely believed I wouldn't be alive to see my babies grow up. I believed my husband was better marrying anyone else instead of me. Because you opened your heart with your gift, I have taken my first leap towards life. Towards freedom. I actually made the first leap towards life."

"To say 'thank you' for help me be a better me--no words have been created yet to express what I feel in my hear, soul and brain. "As a woman who has been on the path to healing for 30 years, I am so indescribably grateful for this experience. I have been looking an opportunity like this for a long time. Our goal for 2019-2020 is to raise $100,000 for our first year of operations in order to offer more retreats and coed trauma workshops through out the year. If you know of any grants, upcoming fundraisers or holiday company parties please keep Sunlight in your mind!
